From the Jan. 12th, New York Times, a great web-presentation of an Op-Ed about Yael Ben-Zion’s photo project “Intermarried”. The project looks at couples in Washington Heights, NYC, who are interfath, interracial, or both.
In the fallout of this week’s Richard Cohen Op-Ed controversy, there’ve been a few great articles looking at the demographics of interracial marriage. The best of the lot is Stanley B. Greenberg’s piece “The Last Test” for Politico today, which includes some great portraits from photographer Robert Kalman’s “No Difference Between Them” project (also here). If you’re looking for a few great statistics about this demographic swing toward a more pluralistic America, you’ll find them in Greenberg’s piece.

PHOTOS: Awesome Project Responds To Cheerios Backlash
It was only two weeks ago that the Internet was ablaze with backlash over a Cheerios commercial featuring a biracial family, followed by an outpouring of support for the ad. While such topics tend to burn brightly online and disappear just as quickly, photographer Michael David Murphy hopes to make a more lasting impression with his response, a website called “We Are The 15 Percent”.
